49ers’ Shanahan Favored to Win NFL Coach of the Year Award

In regards to NFL Coach of the Year chances, established names like Bill Belichick, Sean Payton and Andy Reid are usually topping the list before the beginning of the season. However, for the 2019 effort, a trio of young firearms are headlining things at sportsbooks.
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is your +1000 preferred to win the Coach of the Year Award, together with Freddie Kitchens (+1100), Sean McVay (+1200), Bill Belichick (+1200), Frank Reich (+1400), Sean Payton (+1400), Andy Reid (+1400), Doug Pederson (+1600), Matt LaFleur (+2000) along with Matt Nagy (+2000) comprising the remaining top 10.
Given the 49ers are coming off a 4-12 SU season, it is a small shock to see Shanahan as the front-runner in this aspect. But San Fran is expected to have a healthful Jimmy Garoppolo under center and a vastly enhanced roster that includes cornerback Jason Verrett, running Tevin Coleman, Dee Ford and No. 2 overall selection Nick Bosa along with No. 36 Deebo Samuel in the 2019 NFL Draft. For the next season in a row, the Niners are a seemingly universal stylish sleeper playoff pick and could make some noise in the NFC West.
Kitchens’ ascension into the head coaching positions in the NFL has been something to behold, that is quite similar to this turnaround that the Cleveland Browns have undergone with general director John Dorsey in charge.
Baker Mayfield looks like a franchise already, and he’ll have Odell Beckham Jr. to throw into. The Browns have the Fifth-Best Odds To Win The Super Bowl and if they’re ready to contact the postseason for first time since 2002, Kitchens could easily get rewarded with Coach of the Year honors.
My selection for this particular prop is Reid. He??has become a head coach in the league since 1999 and can be one of the most commonly respected bench bosses from the NFL, and I think he’s primed to reach his second Coach of the Year Award from 2019.
The playoffs are a mixed bag for him personally, but Reid has a profession 195-124-1 record in the regular season and owns 2018 NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes in QB. The Chiefs will be among the top clubs on the NFL this year and Reid’s name should be in contention to win the individual coaching hardware when all is said and done.
Odds at August 7
